Matilda Mann is a favourite of ours here at TMR and luckily for us, she has dropped another great single. ‘Nice’ is an explosive slice of pop that first allows her instantly recognisable voice to shine above a thin, pop-punk-inspired accompaniment, before bursting into an anthemic chorus filled with hooks. On the track, she says: “If I go on a date and the only word I can think to describe it is “nice”, it’s not worth another date,” she explains, on the meaning behind the track. “You’d never describe your best friends or your family as just “nice”. There needs to be a better first word that comes straight to mind.” The Ivor Novello Rising Star nominee will be performing around the UK this summer. -Dan Peeke
